Sweetwater Brewing Co., Blue, 4.9% abv. pours golden yellow with a thin white head that disappears quickly. Blueberry aroma is the first scent to hit the nose. There are some light hints of malt in the background. This is a wheat beer, so since the malt grains are mixed with wheat, no strong malt smells come through. Blueberry is also the first taste, but not in an obnoxious way. This is a refreshing beer to have on a hot and steamy afternoon. Two is about the number you can have before moving onto something more interesting. But, for the non-beer drinker this might be a gateway beer for them to try some other more adventurous brews.
So start with this palate pleaser next time you throw some shrimp on the barbi.
