Cupcakes are very popular everywhere - my neighborhood, the mall, and in Sweet Nothings. Joanie Bigbee is a serial entrepreneur and her most recent endeavor is a cupcake shop in Sugar Springs. She has something to prove to herself and to her hometown. Nick Dalton is in town to reconnect with a long lost sibling. Nick desperately wants to settle down and get married but he can't get Joanie's go-go outfits out of his mind. Unfortunately, Joanie has sworn off relationships and settling down but that doesn't deter Nick from moving into her life and helping her fix some of her problems.
While they are rehabbing Joanie's family home so that she can sell it to pay for her grandmother's nursery home care, they learn a lot about one another and give into the attraction that's been brewing between them. Nothing is ever simple - in real life or in books - and when Joanie learns of a bet going around town which she figures is to find out when she'll turn out to be as stupid as her mother, Joanie pushes Nick out of her life. But he won't go far, especially when he knows she's hurting after her grandmother's sudden death.
How long will it take for these two to figure out what they'll really need? How long will it take them to see the possibilities available for happiness? You're going to want to find out because this is a great read.
