Sometimes you can find a great horror movie that is considered "B" list because it independent of major studios. Likewise you can get real stinkers due to lack of budget.
The good ones end up cult classics....for instance Rocky Horror and the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre were not large budget productions but have large international followings.
It is with these movies in mind and of course the child inside frightened of jaws that led me to this weeks selection.
"Super Shark" is yet another example of what Neve Campbell's character in Scream complained about. From what I could stomach of the movie it was a poor excuse for the writer/director to get girls in skimpy bikinis to jump around.
There is one consider "omg" moment in the movie that had me pay any attention at all: the shark is huge, roughly the size of a killer whale (if not bigger) and it walks on dry land as fast as it can swim.
Unfortunately, possibly with lack of budget just as soon as it on land and the girls run around screaming it cuts away to people talking about it.
A reporter makes the joke that the ordinance about not drinking on the beach isn't doing any good.
The concept of a shark that walks on land with a taste for human blood is a fascinatingly frightful idea but the rest leaves the movie lacking.
