After 60 years, Walls Wharf by the sea, still offers some of the best seafood on long island. Viewing a gorgeous sunset at night from one of the large porthole windows in the main dining room is worth the trip... The restaurant is located just slightly off the main drag into historic Bayville by the sea. A short narrow road takes you right up to the beach, sea, and the famous Walls Wharf restaurant. This quirky, weather beaten venue has a unique charm and atmosphere that has made it one of the most congenial dining venues on the north shore of long island. .Walls Wharf also has a terrific wait staff that goes out of their way to try and please each of their diners.
The Sunday Brunches at walls wharf are legendary for the amazing variety of sea food, hot dishes, and homemade pastrys they offer. Although, we were frequent diners at the restaurant, we had never been to their famous Sunday Brunch. We were seated in the main dining room near a large fireplace which adjoined the bar room where the brunch buffet foods were served
The brunch menu was simply spectacular : Large peeled shrimp, mini lobster rolls, mussels, sashimi, sliced smoked salmon, an omelette station with ham, veggies, cheeses, mushrooms, and onions. homemade waffles, marinated sliced steak, fresh fruit platters, pasta, muffins, bagels, cake, bagels, and of course cream cheese. hot plates filled with pasta, chicken, potatoes, and an eclectic variety of other hot from the kitchen plates. The hot and cold plates are constantly refilled and the "hits" keep rolling in from the kitchenThis culinary cornucopeia is a foodies dream and there is no limit to the amount of full sized plates that you can refill and devour.
Each individual brunch comes with a complimentary bloody mary or mimosa, all at a very affordable price for both adults and children. Ashley our waitress was charming, lovely, and very informative about the menu, and the history of the restaurant. After dining for a few hours and enjoying the ambiance, sea view and piped in music, we left fully satiated, and delighted at a fabulous Sunday afternoon at Walls Wharf.
Highly recommended, make reservations, well worth the trip....
