The warmer weather was a welcome change and fans were also treated to the annual Summerfest fireworks display. It had been postponed several times from opening day due to inclement weather and lake fog. The fireworks kicked off just after 9:30 pm and continued into a spectacular grand finale as the 10 p.m. headliners were preparing to take their respective stages.

Rapper Nas and country star Kip Moore drew the biggest crowds on Tuesday night. Nas has been an influence on hip-hop since his earlier material from the 90s. His slick word play and driven delivery showed that he's still among the greats. A relative newcomer to country, Moore had fans dancing well beyond the perimeter of the BMO Harris Pavilion. He performed music from his debut album, Up All Night. Other headliners were G. Love & Special Sauce, Switchfoot, Rusted Root, Los Lonely Boys and Yonder Mountain String Band.

Expect larger crowds through the holiday weekend, especially with this year's strong talent lineup. Attendees should be prepared for cooler weather in the evening and expect traffic hiccups if your plan includes staying until close. Leaving a headline show going into the encore could save considerable time at the end of the night.

Wednesday should draw a huge crowd with Dave Matthews Band performing at the Marcus Amphitheater without an opening act. Plan to arrive early if you're ticketed for this show. DMB should be playing an early acoustic set followed by their traditional electric performance. Bonnie Raitt will play the BMO Harris Pavilion while Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Jake Miller, DJ Pauly D, Ludacris, Wailers and The Airborne Toxic Event will be scattered amongst the other ground's stages for headline shows.
