Spring cleaning often means revisiting how we choose our makeup and changing it up. There wouldn't be any fun keeping the same sunglasses each summer, right? So why not swap out that demure nude lipstick for a high voltage look-at-me kind of vibe? For that really amazing color story for the warm weather season, the best and most on trend way to wear lipstick is in a soft shine glossy formula. But with that shine comes a disappearing act. So where are the long lasting lipstick/gloss hybrids? I did find an answer recently and I can't wait to share it!
The first lipstick I tried was the Heartbreaker shade of the Gel Lip Colour formulation from Laura Mercier, a celeb and makeup artist favorite. I would say this color in the tube is very bubblegummy and almost neon, but on the lips it's the perfect pink.shade for any complexion, including my deep olive skin. I loved the very smooth feeling and the added vanilla scent (and yes, a subtly sweet taste, too). This goes on as a lipstick, but behaves like a sheer color. There's no dry out no matter what time of day or how long the color stays on. And it does stay put. This little dynamo has major love for the pout by adding beneficial hydration. How often does lipstick give something back? Usually it is doing the opposite. But for the dry and hot weather season, Laura Mercier shares this girl's best friend with all of us. This is definitely one to pack on your summer vacay!
