Strega Nona has the talent to take a pot and fill it up with spaghetti. She warns Big Anthony to leave her magical pot alone, but does he listen? NOOO! Big Anthony decides he wants to feed the entire village with pasta, but eventually the pasta takes over the village leaving everyone fleeing from the spaghetti. Strega Nona gives the spaghetti three kisses, which stops the ever-growing pasta invasion and as punishment she makes Big Anthony eat all the pasta. Some punishment, huh?
Throughout the book, the story is illustrated with Tomie dePaola’s bright and sunny watercolors delighting readers with this charming folk tale.
