Stone Ruin Ten IPA 10.8% abv. is a hop monster. This is the Stone Ruination IPA, just renamed for its tenth anniversary. It is bright amber in color with a quickly fading off white head. The aromas start with pink grapefruit with sourdough bread and plenty of flowery hops. The palate has a nice hoppy bitter taste up front that is balanced by some sweet malty flavors. This has a long bitter finish, but that is the point. Some hop heads may be thrown off by the sweet malt have way threw tasting, but they should enjoy some contrasting flavors not found in many hopped up beers. Plus, all that malt helps boost the abv. to that lofty 10.8%. Don’t be afraid of losing this beer for another 10 years, the brewery plans to re-release it on its anniversary.
