Libby Holloway discovers she has inherited the beautiful old Tidewater Inn, which cries out for her restorer’s expertise. Not only that but she has family she never knew existed, living on the Outer Banks of North Carolina where the inn is located. She soon realizes that while she wants to keep it she cannot afford the repairs needed for the Inn’s upkeep and someone is looking to buy it.
Things are even more complicated when her newfound family will not accept her, and she is under suspicion in the kidnapping of her best friend which she witnessed via webcam. Will she be able to discover the real kidnappers before it is too late? Find out in Tidewater Inn book one of the “Hope Beach” series by Colleen Coble.
I loved this book and could not put it down especially towards the end! In many ways it is a mystery and there are many different layers to it. Even towards the end when I thought I had everything figured out another layer was revealed.
I wish Tidewater Inn and Hope Beach were real places! They sound so beautiful and intriguing that I would love to spend time there, and meet the people in this book.
Generosity verses greed is a major theme in this book. Libby struggles a great deal with this issue as she tries to figure out what to do and what would be best for her and the people she wants to help.
On the whole this is a page turning mystery with some suspense thrown in. I give it five out of five stars.
If there is a book you would like me to review please write it in the Comments.
Soli Deo Gloria!
