Every pilot must prove that he or she is current. Therefore, the FAA mandates the BFR - the bieannial flight review every licensed pilot must do every two years. It consists of a minimum of one hour verbal ground "exam" and at least one hour of flight test. Many pilots - especially those who do not have much flight experience - are afraid of them.

An excellent way to prepare for the BFR is Sporty's BFR DVD. It is very well made, and it offers the complete aeronautical knowledge pilots necessary. This course is highly recommendable. The price is decent: $34.99 for the DVD and $29.99 for the iPad or iPhone app.
