Great Halloween fun, costumes, and concerts are planned for the entire weekend in Marietta.
First, on Friday evening Friday, Oct. 29, the Earl Smith Strand Theatre will be hosting the Rock-N-Horror Music Show featuring Prime and Benefitting the Humane Society of Cobb County. The event is part masquerade party and part music show. The band, Prime of Atlanta, will be performing music that covers rock classics, modern rock, and country music.
Doors open at 6:30. The Strand’s rooftop terrace also opens at 6:30 PM with a cash bar. The music begins at 8 PM and plans to be a rollicking good time for all.
Tickets are $18. Seating is general admission with the proceeds going to the Humane Society of Cobb County.
More spooky fun is planned for Saturday, Oct. 30, at Midnight. The Rocky Horror Picture Show (R), described as horror parody, is a fast-paced potpourri of camp, sci-fi and rock 'n' roll. Audience participation is a must while viewing the movie which stars Barry Bostwick, Susan Sarandon, and Tim Curry.
You can sing-along with a live organ which is part of the fun. The variety show, for ages 18 and older begins at 11:30 PM. Tickets are $10.
Finally, Alfred Hitchcock fans can rejoice with the Halloween viewing of Hitchcock's classic 1954 suspense film Rear Window on Sunday the 31st. The audience is invited to enjoy the movie in Halloween costumes while watching the whodunit. Part of the fun is watching the glorious Grace Kelly in her Edith Head designs interact with James Stewart, stuck in his wheelchair, as they solve the disappearance and murder of a neighbor.
Live organ pops variety show and sing-along at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $7 for adults and $6 for children.
