Spain played killer free show at Origami Vinyl

Spain began in 1993, lead by bassist Josh Haden. in 1997, Johnny Cash covered Spain's 'Spiritual' on his Unchained album.

Years later now, Spain has reunited.  Their latest single, 'I'm still free' wafted down out of the Origami Vinyl's store front last night.  The song is all that is beautiful and right with music.  It's decadent style and sound intermingled with heart felt, glorious lyrics, makes you want the sun to never set.  It encapsulates the elegance and quality of the music Spain produces.

What a gift this free show at Origami was on my way to the Echoplex.  I was told free shows are of the norm at this hipster record store.  The store owners definatly set up amazing shows that should draw bigger crods, however, the space doesn't allow for the secret to leak out too much.  Origami will have it's website up and running in a few weeks, and will have live performance links posted in case you miss an incredible performance, such as Spain.

Josh and the guys sounded brilliant in the small space.  The deliver melodic, mood music like an orchestra without 25 other people.  They currently have their release "I'm still free" on vinyl at Origami or you can order copies on ITunes or through Spain's website. http://www.spaintheband.com/
