Remember last week, when you learned Alameda is actually a really cool place to see live music? That only became more clear this week, so take note: a really great show went down on September 29th (that's last Sunday night), when Funeral Kings and Sorrow Church played at The Fireside Lounge.
It was another night of irresistibly good music: from the old school punk sound of Funeral Kings to the fantastically dark, electronic, laser-filled set by Sorrow Church, both bands did more than impress: they left everyone screaming "encore! encore!" until they had to leave. This was a great show. Both bands were excellent, and both should have a bright future in the bay area (and hopefully beyond). But as with anyone seeking success in music, that doesn't just depend on them: it also depends on you. So when you hear about these bands playing in the future, either here or on Facebook or a music blog -- don't turn away, go see them!
For now, make sure to take a look at the great photos from this show in the gallery to your left (to see a higher-res version of this gallery, click here to see the set on Flickr).
