Having seen every episode of each season thus far, and countless other television series, I know filler when I see it, and last night was no exception. There was little to no action, aside from the usual motorcycle/car chase down some California interstate, no revenge seeking, nothing. Just some minor plot drivers delivered to us verbally as asides.
'Sons' is not alone - every great show has their moment of filler. Take AMC's 'Breaking Bad' with their episode entitled 'Fly.' That series, a brilliant master piece of television, had one episode solely devoted to beloved meth-cook Walter White on the hunt to exterminate one fly. It could be worse - the entire show could suck, right?
'Salvage,' (S6E6) did little to nothing to drive the story line. The same thing occurred with last night's episode of 'Sons.' Below are some less than important bits of information we uncovered last night:
- The DA wears a wig (my guess, she's got multiple personalities)
- Tara's court date has been moved up three weeks, and she's being tried directly by the DA
- Bobby came back (and was never really planning to leave)
- Everyone knows the US Marshall was a crook and an addict
While these are all relevant points, I was hoping for something major to happen. You can't just blow the clubhouse one week and then have sunshine and rainbows the next episode, Kurt! Maybe next week will be better. It's rumored the show will be around for a 7th season, so there's plenty of time for redeeming.
