The night before New Year's Eve, the Jazzhaus filled up for a pre-party of epic proportions. Sonic Sutra jammed two solid sets. The bar was filling up quickly last night with a crowd of party people and fans of the band. Joining the guys, Courtney Rose Smith took the stage for several songs to add her lovely voice to the mix.
During their first set, Sonic Sutra warmed up a steadily filling bar, recieving applause from appreciative listeners as the venue prepared to rage. By the second set the Jazzhaus was completely pumped, with crowds at the bar, the smoking patio and dance floor.
The combined powers of the instrumentals, along with Billy Wassung and Courtney's vocals, the band played a great show that impressed Sonic Sutra veterans and new listeners alike. The band's set list included the fantastic Led Zeppelin song "The Ocean" and other classic rock covers. Gantatsic lights and moody fog made the perfect match for the psychedelic music. The full dance floor raged through the second set, dancing along to the fun, funky jams.
