SOLOSHOT at the January 2013 Orlando Surf Expo

Melbourne Florida, January 27, 2013 – This being my second Surf Expo, I decided now that I knew the layout and noted that many of the exhibitors who were here last September were here in January, I would look for interesting products that would make you outdoor recreation experience unforgettable. When I came to the SOLOSHOT booth, I knew immediately that I had found such a product. The SOLOSHOT is an entire camera crew in one small electronic device no bigger than any of the digital cameras on the market today.

According to SOLOSHOT Inc. the “SOLOSHOT automatic cameraman is the first commercially available product that lets athletes, parents, and filmmakers get action video footage without requiring a person to hold a camera. SOLOSHOT automatically keeps a camera pointed towards the subject. SOLOSHOT works with any camera to track and film subjects moving up to 230 kph at distances up to 600 meters. The internal rechargeable batteries last over five hours. The armband sensor withstands the most demanding ocean environments. The included professional tripod extends to 1.5 meters and features collapsible legs for easy traveling.”

As I stood at their booth watching the videos of SOLOSHOT in action, I could see immediately where this device would be perfect for all sorts of outdoor recreational activities where the sports enthusiast wanted to capture their activities on film without the assistance of others. SOLOSHOT was designed with surfers, snowboarders, soccer players, equestrians, water or snow skiers, wake boarders, skateboarders, motocross racers, racecar drivers, kite surfers, and rock climbers in mind. The device is compact, portable, and durable. It comes with a portable tripod base and a small armband transponder. The armband transponder syncs to the device just like you would sync your garage door opener remote to your garage door opener. Once you have done that you are ready to mount you camera and get shooting.

SOLOSHOT is a great addition to the type of cameras one mounts on their helmet or on the handle bars of their bicycle. While you are photographing where you are going, the SOLOSHOT allows you to take additional photos and videos from a new perspective.

SOLOSHOT Inc. was founded by board-sport loving engineers Chris Boyle and Scott Taylor. It MSRP for the SOLOSHOT device, tripod and the travel bag is $495.00.

SOLOSHOT is available at Amazon, B&H Photo, and Adorama web sites.

Until next time, be safe in the sun and have a great day on the water.
