If you want authentic family style Italian food you must try Sodini's restaurant in North Beach. Located at 510 Green St. in the heart of San Francisco. Once you step into the doors you will instantly feel Italian with the tunes of Frank Sinatra playing in the background you can't go wrong.
Most likely the debonair owner at the bar, Mark Sodini, will greet you. The decor is so cozy if you are lucky you can sit at the private corner booth by the bar that is illuminated by hanging grapes. If you are alone best place is to sit at the bar, the staff is so friendly if you don't know what to order don't worry they will take care of you.
Remember it's family style meaning the portions can be large and tasty. Smile because you can have it your way, you can mix different choices of sauce with the specific pasta you want. The wait staff is full of big personality and they are very accommodating.
A sure thing when you visit is that you won't leave hungry you will be fully satisfied and may even have leftovers. If you want to have your choice of seating arrive early, they don't take reservations so beware it is always packed, full of natives and visitors from all over the world.
My favorite dishes to try Fried Calamari, Bruschetta, and Penna La Forna all are super delish! Bottom line if you are craving Italian you can't go wrong with Sodini's Trattoria good food and a great time is guaranteed.
