If you are looking for beverage that can give you a boost in the morning, then Sneaky Pete's Oat Beverage will do the trick, with out all the caffeine.
This is a very unique beverage. Once you get past the color, it is actually pretty good.
The Apple flavor, when you open it the scent is definitely apple, but when you taste it , it brings up the memory of apple cinnamon oatmeal. It really is a decent drink for just having a whopping 40 calories.
The apple flvor would make a great drink if you are short on time and running out the door or going on a trip and have no time to stop for breakfast.
The grape flavor on the other hand has a bit of a medicinal taste, but makes a killer sweet drop biscuit.
Here is the recipe for the drop biscuits I chose to make with the grape flavored beverge:
1 and 1/3 cups of the Sneaky Pete's Grape flavored oat beverage
4 cups of Jiffy Baking Mix
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees.
Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl, until well combined. Take a large cookie scoop (aka. ice cream scoop) and scoop your mix out on to a sprayed cookie sheet, or whatever pan you you have available.
Once all scooped to pans, and oven is finished preheating, put in oven and bake for 12 minutes.
Upon finishing, take out of the oven and do the toothpick test. If the toothpick comes out clean, remove from pans, and let cool.
When it came to the peach flavor oat beverage, it was surprisingly good paired with pork.
As with the other two, once yu get past the pungent hit of flavor and color, it really is good.
When it came to pairing this with the pork, it added a nice sweetness, without hitting you over the head with it.
Here is the recipe for the Peachy Pork Tenderloin:
Get a container for marinating your loin. Put a little salt and pepper in the container. Cut open the pork loin, and remove a little of the fat, and roll it around in the salt and pepper in the container. Then open the Sneaky Pete's Peach Flavor Oat Beverage, and pour it in, and put the lid on the container. Let set covered in the refrigerator over night, or if you are making the same day, put it in the refrigerator in the morning, and take out at dinner when you plan to cook it.
While your pork loin is marinating, prehet your oven to 500 degrees. Get out your loin, and put it on a baking sheet, and discard the liquid, as you can not use it again. Once the oven is done heating, put in the loin and bake for 30 minutes.
Once the loin is done tke it out, turn off the oven, and let set 10 minutes to let the juices re-distribute.Get out your favorite sauce to compliment the loin. All though it may not be noticed right away, the peach beverage does add a nice sweetness to the pork and needed moisture, and makes it a juicy dish.
So in the end Sneaky Pete's Oat Beverage is definitely something you should try at least once. (If it is available in your area.) Put it on your bucket list to try. What are you waiting for go on, try it.
