Robin Monroe (Anne Heche) is a New York gal to the max. This girl does not understand the words get down and dirty, but she does by the end of the movie. Okay, she and her boyfriend Frank Martin (David Schwimmer) want to take some time off and head to the south seas. They are on a beautiful island with the sandy beaches and the little parasol drinks and the seafood. They are in heaven.
Robin gets a call and is told she needs to get over to a near by island and do a story. She is a magazine reporter and the company has no one else in the area.
She and her boyfriend reluctantly agree that she needs to do this and she hires a plane. Problem is you have a drunken pilot by the name of Quinn Harris (Harrison Ford) at the controls. At first Quinn is not wanting to take the job but when the money is so high you can't say no, you take it. Before takeoff Quinn is informed of some storms in the area but he thinks he can get Robin there safely.
You guessed it they get caught in a storm and are lucky to make it to what they think is a deserted Island .
Back on the original Island Frank hears that the plane has gone down and that there is a search once the storm lightens up. When drowning his sorrows, who does Frank meet but Angelica (Jacqueline Obradors) Quinn's main squeeze at the time. So they eventually comfort each other. Back to Quinn and Robin, they have very little to survive with for any long period of time. They either must try to get off the Island or have someone spot them from the air or sea rescue. Oh yeah, did I mention the pirates in the area. This is one of those cute and enjoyable light hearted movies that every so often are nice to watch. Director Ivan Reitman does a wonderful job pulling all the actors together then apart and then back together again. Look just sit back on a lazy Sunday afternoon and enjoy.
