Murphy-Goode Homefront Red

It's the story beginning we all like to hear about: three friends getting together and making something out of their love for wine. That's what happened in 1985 when three pals, Murphy, Goode and Ready started producing wines in Sonoma, CA. Producing wonderful Fume Blancs, Chardonnay, Merlot and many other wines is only part of what Murphy-Goode does. They also are a sponsor of Operation Homefront which is a non-profit organization that provides emergency financial and other assistance to military families and wounded warriors. Homefront Red is the wine that Murphy-Goode created just for this cause. For every single bottle you buy, 50 cents will be donated by Murphy-Goode to Operation Homefront.

Homefront Red is a big flavorful blend of Syrah, Merlot, Petit Sirah and Zinfandel. The moment the glass is swirled aromas of black cherry and raspberry waft out of the glass. The first sip brings more juicy raspberry with a nice touch of toastiness and vanilla trailing on to the finish. A perfect sipping wine with pasta, barbeque or pizza. The best part of this wine is, while you sip it, you know where part of the proceeds are going, and we can all drink to that!
