Michigan author Sue William Silverman has just released a new memoir, ‘The Pat Boone Fan Club: My Life as a White Anglo-Saxon Jew.’ The book explores Silverman’s search for self-identity, her conflicted emotions toward Judaism, and her various and sometimes entertaining efforts to pass as a Christian.

Where does Pat Boone come into play? The 1960s icon played a role in Silverman’s life through three different encounters, but at the heart of the story is Silverman’s desire to be taken in and adopted by an idealized Christian father figure.

Poignant and funny, heartwarming and candid, Silverman’s writing will win over readers regardless of faith, belief, or pop music preferences.

Silverman’s ‘The Pat Boone Fan Club: My Life as a White Anglo-Saxon Jew’ was published by University of Nebraska Press. An excerpt is available on the press website.
