Signature Quarters horse trailer living quarters conversion factory tour

At Cowboy Christmas during the National Finals Rodeo in Vegas, I interviewed Abby Clark of Signature Quarters. Then I went to her plant in Valentine Nebraska for the inside story. I was impressed.

After a long day of trail riding, team roping or high school rodeo, coming home to your horse trailer for a hot shower, diner and of course watching MrTruck on RFD TV is my idea of fun. Signature Quarters is known for luxury in Living Quarters, like you’d expect in a model home. Beauty and style in your home away from home.

I’ve had a cheap Living Quarters installed in a trailer from a different brand. In a couple years the window valances fell off and the trim came loose. Bouncing down the road is hard on things that are stapled and glued together. Along with beauty, Signature Quarters custom cabinets are all hardwood made for the abuse of the long road.

A family business, Abby Clark is the designer that will work out the details with you for your Living Quarters. Abby’s brother Brady Clark is the shop manager. Dick Clark, Abby and Brady’s dad is a custom home builder. The same in house shop makes cabinets for Signature Quarters and million dollar custom homes for a residential feel of your home with horses.

The custom cabinet shop, quality workmanship, quality materials and the attention to details, sets Signature ahead of the competition. Abby works from her design studio near the plant, dealing directly with customers. It’s like designing a custom home. You actually talk to the person designing your trailer to work out the hands on details.

Darwin Hargrave is the sales manager. He helps design your floor plan working with you and your trailer dealer. Darwin asks the right questions about how you’ll use your trailer. He’ll see to it that the trailer shell is framed in for AC, refrigerator, water heater, etc. to match how Abby will custom design your home.

The first thing that happens at the SQ plant with your trailer, is the water check. Testing for leaks on the shell first just like the high end Class A motor homes. Then all the appliances, TV’s etc. are tested before they go in the trailer, after they go in and again on final inspection.

With cabinets custom made for individual trailers, the process goes through the cabinet room, stain room and finish booth. With attention to detail, antiquing is hand rubbed before lacquering or stain, 3 coats of finish, all sanded between coats of finish with several different glosses available.

Sandhills Package is SQ’s economical package. Pine tongue and groove, dark antiqued cabinets like the interior of log home. The dark antique cabinets are hand rubbed before lacquering with 3 coats of finish.

Valentine Nebraska being almost to South Dakota, Signature knows cold weather and insulating a Living Quarters. It’s typical for a Living Quarters horse trailer to be insulated with Styrofoam to R2 up to R7. Signature Quarters can go up to R16 with their special insulation. An enclosed belly option for customers that live year around in their trailer, has a heated floor with pluming inside the chassis. The floor is built up for the enclosed water tanks, which allows less step up to the bedroom.

The special insulation used by Signature helps across the country with less humidity, a water vapor barrier and little condensation. Other benefits are more efficient air conditioning, noise reduction, less wind noise and generator noise.

With everyone concerned with fuel mileage and a trend to lighter trucks, Signature Quarters are designed to save weight where possible. Signature Quarters can last you decades. The proof is in all the satisfied customers.
