Thursday night the House of Blues Foundation Room in Hollywood was flooded with fan and future fans of Sid Sriram. A graduate of the Berklee School Of Music, Sid is a professional and natural creator when it comes to music. This was my first experience seeing Sid Sriram perform live. At 9:30 Sid started his show and the crowd began to move much closer to the stage. Being an LA crowd, there was a lot of chatting and seemed to be uninterested in what was going on around them. This changed immediately with Sid's voice and music almost hypnotizing everyone. He then had complete attention from the crowd. His famously buzzing cover of James Blake's Life Round Here seemed to be the popular demand from people.
My favorite was a song called Alchemy, which made me feel like I was chilling, sipping wine during a sunset in Italy. Sid showed us his programming skills when he live sampled himself during the last song of the night. After he was gone and back to working. Download his album West Coast Nightfall Part 1 and be looking out for Part 2 coming soon.
