Shut off your morals & mind and just have fun with Movie 43

Rated R comedies have been making a major surge over the years and really raking it in at the box office. At the same time there have been a lot of films coming out featuring huge A-list casts in every genre, but none more than the latest Movie 43. The trailers were pretty funny, but offered little to what the film was actually about and a bit confusing. Along with the amazing A-list cast it features numerous directors leading the charge including Peter Farrelly, James Gunn, Bob Odenkirk, Brett Ratner, and more. Could this film actually deliver up to the hype or will it be another failed experiment?

Movie 43 is an anthology style that follows an overarching segment featuring a crazed screenwriter pitching his insane idea for a movie. Each non-connecting segment delvers a strange array of stories that make little to no sense connected together. Before saying anything about this film you have to understand that this film will only appeal to certain audiences and even then only if they are willing to let it be what it is. The performances aren’t always great here, but the overall experiment is really fun. This movie is receiving a lot of negative buzz, but most of that falls more in the fact of too much thought put into it. They step over the line in almost every aspect in this film and it works if you let it. There are tons of uncomfortable laugh out loud moments, but if you try to analyze it or look for smart comedy it just won’t work. This is potty humor that will probably only entertain those that look for that sort of thing and enjoy the over the top nature of it all. Most of the moments in this film are unnecessary, but still delivers the raunchy strange comedy that fans of the genre will enjoy.

If nothing else all the actors in this film deserve major props as each one put themselves out there. It looked as though they are just having a great time playing in these little worlds and it shows. Seeing some of them step out of their usual types of roles is enough to check this film out and who knows maybe you will enjoy the nasty potty humor that goes along with it along the way. With a cast featuring almost anyone you can think of there has to be someone in there that will appeal to you, so turn off your brain and just have fun.
