Summer is here, and there's nothing nicer than a luxurious eye shadow collection that reflects the season, complimented by a fabulous eye liner for accent. Shiseido fills that desire, perfectly, with their Summer Collection featuring a Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio $33.00 called "Pink Sands" (RD711) and an Automatic Fine Eyeliner Pen "Night Sky" (BL603).
The eye shadow palette resides in Sheisido's chic, sleek square, black mirrored compact and includes a nice (really useable) mini brush applicator, plus a sponge-tipped applicator (but the shadows are so silky, you can actually apply them with your fingertip if you wish). Use them wet, or dry for more or less intense color. The three complimentary colors are inspired by Shiseido Makeup Artistic Director Dick Page's travels, and this trio reminds me of the the luminous, pink shells and warm sand of beautiful beaches. While many of the popular pink colors are very harsh, these are more peachy and warm, so they look lovely on all skin tones (the photo isn't quite right, the palette colors are a bit deeper and warmer). The palette was created by Shiseido Makeup Artistic Director Dick Page, who is inspired by his travels around the globe. The colors are luminous, sort of pearled, but not shimmery or glittery. The first is a true, soft pink, the middle features a champagne highlighter or lid color, and the one on the right is a peachy pink.
Eye Liner can be difficult to apply smoothly, and you really need a practiced hand to apply a liquid liner, well. But the Shiseido Automatic Fine Eyeliner $29.00 has such a fine tip, you can't either dot it on close to your lash line, or make one, smooth line without worrying about dragging, pulling or spotting. The color stays put for hours with a smudge-proof formula. True, it's a pricey "pencil" but the high performance and beautiful, midnight-blue color (also flattering on all complexions and a lot less harsh than bold black), makes it a must-have for eyeliner fans now that the weather has heated up. Wear it all year long to a club, or when you know you're going to be perspiring, without worry that you'll end up with Raccoon Eyes.
Of course you want these! Get them at your favorite, Shiseido Counter (two favorites in New York are at Bloomingdale's and Saks Fifth Avenue) or at Sephora locations around the City and the country, or check out the Official Shiseido Web Site
