Last night at the Bluebird, She Wants Revenge opened for Peter Murphy and Hussle Club. Or rather, She Wants Revenge wasn't even an opener, it was one of those shows that just jumps into the action and doesn't need someone to warm up the crowd and gets right to the point.
Touring in support of their new release, Valleyhart, they have been put on the bill alongside one thier heroes, Peter Murphy, best known from the band Bauhaus before making his own independence in the 90's. I can't imagine how awesome it must be for a band to get to open for someone they have followed.
One really super nice thing about She Wants Revenge is that they were more than willing to do an autograph and meet and greet with thier fans after thier show. It would be nice if more bands followed their lead and went (back) to doing that again instead of trying to keep thier image as untouchable rock idols.
Peter Murphy was offering a signed Bauhaus cd along with his $65 meet and greet after the show. I understand that he is quite a bit more famous and has definitely bee around a whole lot longer than She Wants Revenge, but I was a little turned off to see that it was a whole other money making package deal.
She Wants Revenge put on an awesome show and showed they weren't afraid to just jump into something head first.
