Sharky’s on the Pier is celebrating a 25 year commitment in bringing the best sunsets and food to Venice Island, Sarasota County, Florida. The tropical theme reverberates through the outdoor patio dining area and Tiki bar against the backdrop of the Gulf of Mexico, and Venice’s historic fishing pier. Year round, Sharky’s is an excellent destination to meet with friends and family, dine el fresco, kick back and enjoy.

The menu is varied and distinctive, and the average price of an item is around $11 dollars. The staff is accommodating and congenial. Additionally, the restaurant also boasts an indoor dining room, should the weather be less than perfect.

I arrived shortly before sunset, on a Friday night to find the restaurant reasonably busy. However, there were some seats still available, and the fellows at the outdoor Tiki Bar were serving the libations fresh, fast and friendly. The band, Tropical Avenue, was assembled and ready to play- for that perfect time of day.

The most remarkable feature, aside from a great fare selection, is the ambiance, and setting. Here’s a view from the back porch:

View from the Pier

The panorama view of the Gulf is great from any seat at Sharky’s. The Above photo was taken right off the outdoor patio at Sharky’s. The vistas are truly awe inspiring and the restaurant does a fair trade pretty much any time of the year. This author would advise you come early and stay late at this destination. The events calendar for May reflects that entertainment is happening at least 5 days a week, in the evenings. The restaurant is family friendly and the menu has a kids section as well as desserts. Sharky’s is a wonderful place if you’re just stopping through town, or if you’re a local. Not only will you be treated as family, you’ll have a great experience either way.

Ron, Mike and Ryan await your next draft, bottle or frozen margarita!

So whether you’re looking for that special place for an awesome night out, drinks with friends, or a family function, Sharky’s has you covered. They are open seven days a week, and their menu and events calendar is available online. As an independent, you are sure to be pleased with the outstanding service and Island flair. Stop in for a sunset, and a frozen ‘Bushwacker’ you won’t be dismayed! Keep checking the website, the menu will have some new items coming up in June. Also, the entertainment schedule will be updated soon. All the best, and a toast to your Health- Cheers! -James
