Seth MacFarlane is again crossing the lines of good taste and audiences love it. The comedy genius behind Family Guy and Ted can never be called tame and tasteful, and proves time and time again that controversy pays. MacFarlane’s new comedy series Dads stars Seth Green and Giovanni Ribisi as two video game developers who have taken in their fathers and all the turmoil that comes with it. Backed up with a very talented cast of Brenda Song, Peter Riegert, and Martin Mull, Fox’s new show is already scoring big with its core audience. The first ten minutes of the pilot already had the quick wit and timing ideal for a successful sitcom.
Before the show even premiered Sep 17, Dads was already taking fire of critics for its irreverent, sexist and racially distasteful jokes. Yet for MacFarlane fans that brand of comedy is music to their ears. Family Guy is entering its 12th season and MacFarlane's hit film Ted raked in around $550 million at the box office. Let the critics say what they will and the audience will enjoy a half an hour a week of pure comedy laughter and joy. Dads airs Tuesdays 8/7c and is well worth watching.
