CraftArtist 2 Professional from Serif provides all the tools you need to create beautiful greeting cards, photo albums, scrapbooks, memorable family keepsakes and more. CraftArtist 2 is fully optimized for use on 64-bit operating systems for improved performance on larger projects and will automatically install for 64-bit as required.
This version of CraftArtist is distributed on a single DVD disc which includes all the program features, extras and Digikits plus an extensive User's Manual in PDF format. A package insert invites the user to join the DaisyTrail community online where you can share your CraftArtist designs and see projects created by others. The DaisyTrail website is the official home of CraftArtist. It's the place to go if you need inspiration or help with a project or some aspect of the program. View video tutorials, enter competitions, download free Digikits, shop for more crafting supplies and sign up for exclusive email offers.
The program opens to the project wizard menu. Make a selection from the menu to start a craft project from scratch or select from hundreds of customizable Templates for Greeting Cards, Photobooks, Scrapbook Pages, Stationery, Gift Wrap, and Party Crafts. Select the theme for your project from the categories provided. These will change according to the project but might include Birthdays, Father's/Mother's Day, Engagements, Wedding, Valentine, Easter, Hanukkah, Graduation, Christmas and dozens more. Let your cursor hover above the thumbnail view of a project on the list and the image will automatically enlarge for a better view. Move your cursor away from the image and it returns to the original thumbnail size. That's a very nice feature especially for those of use with aging eyesight.
Once you select your project template, the necessary elements will be sorted into categories on the left side of your work space. Just drag and drop the items that you want into your project and re-size as needed. Use the drawing and editing tools to add detail, remove, rearrange and change things to suit your own vision.
The built-in drawing tools add flexibility to your creative process and allow you to add your own special touch of color, edit a photo, include a hand drawn element or a handwritten note to a project or photo. Although these tools work well with a standard computer mouse, pairing CraftArtist 2 with a drawing tablet such as the Wacom Bamboo Pen, will enhance your drawing accuracy and allow you to make greater use of CraftArtist 2's unique set of digital crafting tools.
CraftArtist 2 comes with plenty of templates and projects but you can also download additional free Digikits from the DaisyTrail website. These project kits will usually include elements such as photos, frames, fonts, backgrounds, fancy scripts and other materials that you can use to create a project the way you want it to look using a drag and drop process. Personalize each project using pictures, text, stencils, scissors, many different brushes, and other creative tools built-in to give wings to your creativity.
This newest version of Craft Artist includes the crafting tools found in the previous version plus some exciting new tools. The new 3D Decoupage Tool creates the decoupage effect with just a few mouse clicks. The Punches Tab provides over 200 shapes that the user may "punch" out of the project materials to add a unique flair. Import, edit, and export files in PDF format for professional printing. Use the Stamp Mode to create stamps from just about any object. Color matching is now easy with the new Color Palette Generator which can create and match color palette from any photo. The new Graphic Styles feature allows a user to easily change edges, shadows, lines, transparency, filtering effects and more. The new Print Preview feature allows you to see your project before printing and the new file saving options allow you to save files in PDF, SVG, PNG, JPG and TIF formats.
