For years the Transformers have been dominating the airwaves in misc. incarnations with the latest Transformers: Prime kicking off in 2010. The series ran for three seasons bringing a more epic feel to the story than most of the other series in some time. Now the series is ending but instead of just ending it with the season finale, they are bringing it to a close via a movie aptly titled Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising in hopes to bring this epic series to a close, but does it roll out as expected?

Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising follows a resurrected Unicron who has taken over the now-lifeless body of Megatron to seek vengeance on the Autobots and ultimately, the destruction of Cybertron. This formidable enemy forces an unlikely alliance between the Autobots, Decepticons, Predaking and two new Predacons, who come together in an epic battle to help protect their newly restored planet! Much like the regular series this film continues to bring the action and epic feel. This film continues to deliver old school transformers stories alongside great CGI animation much like the series did. The Autobots and Decepticons use a lot of the same designs from the films, while bringing most of them back to the original style look. The animation is really cool and this film sports a ton of action that will sure to entertain. Unlike some of the previous incarnations of the series this show felt more like a serious take on these characters taking each episode into a bigger storyline feeling like mini-movies and now they have stepped it up wrapping things up in a feature like it was begging for from the beginning. Much of the same voice cast from the series returns alongside some new additions including Jeffrey Combs, Kevin Michael Richardson, Will Freidle, Michael Ironside, John Noble, and original Optimus Prime voice actor Peter Cullen. Unlike some of the previous incarnations of the series this show feels more like a serious take on these characters taking each episode into a bigger storyline feeling like mini-movies. While clearly you should watch the series to get the full effect of this film, but even if you haven’t you can still jump right in and figure out what is going on pretty easy.

Most fans were disappointed with the feature films so far, so this is a good alternative that is sure to please. This was easily the best series to come along since the original and sure to please fans of all ages and this film is no exception. Besides the beautiful high-def visuals of the film it also features a look behind the scenes of the film. BE sure to grab your copy of Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising when it hits stores on October 8th.
