This week’s upcoming episode of “My Strange Addiction is by and far, one of the most disturbing episodes of any television show to air on TLC.
According to a March 16, 2013 release from Outlandishnews.com, the show takes us into the stomach-churning world of Michelle, a 29-year-old woman who has had a thirst for animal blood for the last 10 years. Covered in tats and pierced in several places, Michelle confides in TLC about her unusual thirst.
“Blood is as important as water to me,” explains Michelle. “I like to drink blood when I am reading, when I’m relaxing, when I am watching TV, when I’m painting---there’s never a bad time for me to drink blood.”
As if the thought of even tasting blood isn’t gut-wrenching in and of itself, consider this; Michelle needs as much as 7 liters of the stuff weekly just to satisfy her thirst. In all, she has consumed more than 1,000 gallons of blood, preferring pig’s blood over beef blood due to the gamey taste.
Michelle’s blood addiction goes far beyond just drinking it; she has managed to use it for many other things as well.
“I like to cook with blood, I like to make it in soup, I like to cook it in stir-fry,” said Michelle.
Any guesses what Michelle prefers for that evening cocktail?
“When I make Bloody Mary’s I use vodka, hot sauce and then I add the final touch---the blood,” explains Michelle.
Michelle says that without her daily fix for blood life just isn’t the same. Without it she becomes angry and irritable.
She explains her lust for blood:
When I feel it going down my throat, it’s like having a cold and drinking a hot toddy.
Her thirst doesn’t stop with animal blood; the episode also explains how she finds a way to consume human blood as well.
Tune in to this week’s “My Strange Addiction” Wednesday’s at 10 p.m. EST.
