Scissor Sisters were simply stunning at Stubbs on Sunday

On Sunday, April 3rd the Scissor Sisters played live at Stubb's Barbecue in Austin, Texas and packed the place with excited fans. We had not seen them live before, having missed their show at SXSW last year when it was 38 degrees outside. Their clever lyrics and contagious beats on their three studio albums had us curious to witness the live experience. The Scissor Sisters did not disappoint.

The jam-packed set included songs such as "Take Your Mama," "Filthy Gorgeous," a cover of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb," "Fire With Fire," "Skin This Cat," the titular track to their latest album Night Work and an acoustic version of "Sex and Violence." The audience was engaged the entire time and never looked bored for a moment. On top of their vocal and musical talents Jake Shears, Ana Matronic and Del Marquis are fantastic dancers with their own unique style. They were dressed in a mix of red and black vinyl apparel with cut away strips of fabric to show some flesh.

The Sisters had recently finished touring with Lady Gaga for six weeks. Ana Matronic said that although it was wonderful touring with Lady Gaga, the band was happy to once again be playing for a crowd that was there exclusively to see them. They continue their tour with stops on April 8th at the Tabernacle in Atlanta, Georgia; April 15th at the Warfield in San Francisco, California; April 16th at the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California and on June 9th at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee.
