Writer(s)Lee Hall (Billy Elliot) & Richard Curtis (Love Actually)

Starring: Jeremy Irvine (Now Is Good), Peter Mullan (Trainspotting), Emily Watson (Punch-Drunk Love), David Thewlis (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2), Tom Hiddleston (Thor)

DemographicHorse lovers, Spielberg fans, those expecting another Saving Private Ryan

Synopsis: A boy raises a horse his father can't afford, loses him to Loki, and then eventually... well...

Pros: There are two amazing shots and one terrific transition that should be shown in every film class, the horses are believable, there are some decent moments, it's authentic, the cinematography, the scale

Cons: A tad too predictable, the horse is the most dimensonal character in the film, doesn't have a whole lot to say, Spielberg has done better

Bottom Line: It's a good film, but not near Spielberg's potential.

Now Playing: In theaters still... somewhere.
