You expect an urban market to be upscale, but this compact grocery in Inman Park appeals on every level, particularly to the green conscious consumer. SAVI Urban Market features seasonal certified organic fruits and vegetables, a wide variety of natural and organic foods. Pet lovers will find organic pet foods alongside conventional brands. Environmentally friendly cleaning products without VOCs (volatile organic compounds) give shoppers a choice to clean green. The Dairy department has organic milk, yogurt and eggs, plus an assortment of artisan cheeses. Fresh breads including special needs items like gluten-free, wheat-free, and flourless organic breads too. Don’t forget fresh seafood, grass-fed beef, unique desserts, and house-made sausage. They have everything.
But what I love is the wine!
Almost half of the floor space of SAVI Urban Market is dedicated to their eclectic collection of wines and beer. My favorite feature is the Enomatic machine right inside the door, a state of the art feature that allows you to taste many of the wines before buying. You can sample beers as well.
No time to cook tonight? Then save steps without compromising on taste at the deli. There’s an assortment of salads, soups, entrees, and side dishes all prepared fresh daily by a resident chef. For lunch try a grilled-to-order Panini. Even for those who don’t live in the area, the market is a great place to grab a picnic lunch to enjoy at Freedom Park or a walk along The Beltline.
SAVI is one of the stops on the Atlanta Culinary Tour of Inman Park and the Old Fourth Ward. Our November tour coincided with their Harvest Festival which featured local musicians and food venders. We particularly liked the goulash!
