Hopewell Borough was lively again this past Friday night, September 20, 2013 with another “Cruise Night” event. The combination of classic cars and trucks, open restaurants, live music and street vendors including SAVE, A Friend to Homeless Animals can only be described as family fun for all.
The event took place from 5-8 p.m. and was free to attend. Individuals and families walked Broad Street, some with leashed pets, to view the classic cars, listen to live music and dine around town.
SAVE Animal Shelter brought along a very special and friendly adoptable dog named Robin. Sporting his “Adopt Me” vest, he was a hit with both children and adults alike.
SAVE also set up a table to display photos of other adoptable pets at the shelter, publicize their services, and look for donations to help all the animals in need that they house on a daily basis. The shelter depends upon private contributions to support its core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Adoption, Animal Welfare & Safety, and Humane Education.
SAVE, A Friend to Homeless Animals is located at 900 Herrontown Road, Princeton, NJ 08540 Telephone: 609-921-6122
Shelter Hours: Tuesday through Saturday 12-6 p.m. Sunday 12-4 p.m. Closed Monday
You can view SAVE’s adoptable pets online. Browse through their featured pets here. An application for adoption is required.
SAVE is currently working toward moving to a larger, state-of-the-art facility in Montgomery Township. SAVE does not euthanize animals based on space or time limits. Therefore, their adoptable pets live at the shelter until new homes are found.
