AUSTIN, Tex---If you're a filmmaker, music-lover and artsy type, you'd probably understand how South by Southwest (SXSW) is a MUST-festival! I have wanted to check out the fast-growing Music, Film, Interactive event for years, especially when it was a bit more underground. Although that doesn't sound too unattainable, especially since I live in Texas, my schedule never allowed me to travel for any day of the two-week long celebration of all creative artforms. Even this year, I knew I would only be able to catch the last leg, if any part; but I figured, one day was well-worth it, even if it all adds up to just sight-seeing! Hey, writers are inspired by any and eveything. So, let Spring Break begin!
At the last minute, I looked up some of the events...managed to find three FREE stops: Music Gear Expo @theAustinConventionCenter, Renegade Craft Show @thePalmerEventsCenter and the Childish Gambino concert @the ButlerParkstage...Can't go wrong with free, right?
All in all, got inspired, snagged some cool accessories, chatted with some down-to-earth designers with resourceful techniques and good causes, caught a snippet of Snoop Dogg - cameo style, and enjoyed a Childish Gambino concert! Saturday was sweet!
Thumbs up to 2014 SXSW!
