Pre-NAMM week is great for fans because there are shows everywhere in Southern California with awesome lineups. Jan. 20th at the Whisky in Hollywood there was a rip the roof off metal show featuring SANGRE and DMT. Thank you to Michael Black, owner of Dead Sea Records and lead vocalist of Black Oil for putting on a awesome Record Label Showcase.
The night featured 7 bands including Blood For Our Brothers, Arbitrator, Enemy Noise, Burning the Empire, Crimson, SANGRE, & DMT (not in order of appearance).
Veteran Metal Masters SANGRE, coming out of the IE, have been taking over the metal stage. "SANGRE is a Jagermeister sponsored metal band from Southern California. We have performed @ Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, Summer Slaughter, California Metalfest, and have toured throughout the U.S. & Mexico.” The band is made up of Henry Sanchez - Vocals, Mike Reyes - Guitar, Anthony "Ant" Ibarra - Guitar, Danny Perez - Bass, and Josh "The Roach" Durante - Drums. This band describes themselves as Metal/Melodic Death Thrash band. If you have seen them live you know that they live up to that description. See one of their shows and you will leave a fan.
DMT says this about who they are, “...As DMT, we are attempting to create music that pulses with the human energy field, empowering people to awaken the dormant spirit within.” Out of LA, this band is a Progressive/Psychedelic/Metal band that rocks you to the soul, putting on a must see metal show. I have seen this band many times and recommend them to any metal music fan. Members of the band include Jamie Rubel ~ Vocals, Alistar Valadez ~ Bass/Vocals, Dave Valadez ~ Guitars, Sean Michael Dove ~ Guitars, and Erick Daniel ~ Drums. They have a chemistry on stage that projects metal to the core and it explodes throughout the crowd.
Metal at the Whisky is always a good time. As always, head out and support your local bands and music scene and "Occupy Your Local Venue & Support Your Local Bands!".
