Sample authentic Himalayan cuisine without ever getting on a plane

Dumplings are a big food trend right now, and that includes dumplings of all kinds. Korean mandu, Italian ravioli, Japanese gyoza, and Nepalese dumplings called Momo.

If you haven’t tried Nepalese dumplings Himalayan Heritage is where you need to go. Veggies including crispy cabbage and sweet carrots are stuffed into a flour wrapper and then are fried or steamed and served with a delicious dipping sauce.

In addition to the dumplings there are many tasty entrees to sample at Himalayan Heritage, all of which highlight the flavors of North Indian and bordering Nepal. Mushroom matter, where mushrooms and peas are served in a rich gravy, is one such dish, and Masala Paneer, made with cubes of cheese in a creamy and savory sauce is another. Potatoes cooked with spices, spinach blended with cheese, rice made with saffron, and ginger flavored lentils are other tasty dishes to choose from. Indian and Nepalese food are best eaten family style, so choose a few entrees and share with your dining partners. Don’t skip over the bread basket, which comes filled with a variety of soft and doughy breads perfect for mopping up the delicious vegetables and sauces with.

The atmosphere at Himalayan Heritage is casual and quiet, with cozy seats and Indian inspired art. Service is excellent, and food is served promptly. Prices are around $12-20.
