When you arrive at the Salt Rock Grill the impression is that this is a newly established restaurant that looks nice and clean. Very easy parking lot to maneuver, which is always important especially in these small beach towns. Upon entering the restaurant, the refrigerated display of every type of seafood imaginable stands out. Everything looks extremely fresh. Salt Rock Grill contracts out local fisherman in the area. These fishermen bring in their catches of the day and the restaurant uses them as their entree items. In other words, the fish was literally caught the same day.
In terms of the price, I would rate a 7 out of 10 for getting the most of your buck. The price advertised on sites such as tripadvisor.com is $20-$40. This is definitely somewhere you may want to go for a special event or on your last day of vacation. However, when you think about what you are getting as well as comparing it to other seafood restaurants around the country I feel as though this is a very reasonable price.
During my restaurant experience I had the fresh catch of the day topped with lump blue crab meat, which may have been one of the best seafood meals I have had. All entrées include: House or Caesar salad, sour dough bread with fresh herbed olive oil, and choice of Mediterranean Orzo, garlic mashed potatoes or baked potatoes. The meals really include a lot. If you are not a seafood person, don't worry they have many other "land" options such as Steaks, Chicken, Lamb, and Duck. They even have vegetarian options available.
Without hesitation, I would recommend dining at Salt Rock Grill on your next visit to the Gulf Coast of Floria.
