In this action packed and thought provoking thriller, director Daniel Espinosa sews an intriguing tapestry of espionage, betrayal, and honor. When the safe house in his care is attacked, Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds) must transport rogue agent Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) to a secure location. At odds with Frost and pursued by men intent on killing them both, Weston strives to keep himself and his house guest safe and alive.
Baring the quick and brutal stylized action of "The Bourne Identity," Safe House is filled with captivating car chases, gun battles, and fight scenes. However, despite several compelling moments when Frost and Weston struggle for control of the situation, Safe House tends to lag, filling the space between fight and flight with pointless discourse and cut-scenes.
