Whether you want to get a full-on makeover or just need to add some extra lashes to your look, Rouge New York has got you covered: And pretty, and puckered up, and perfectly gorgeous. The brand-new makeup salon, which is located in Soho, cannot be missed, mostly because of its amazing window décor: Gold bulbs that fill a brightly lit, Hollywood-inspired “Rouge” sign. The retro look is immediately eye-catching and oh-so-alluring.
Inside, you’ll find a chic yet comfortable space, with six stations dedicated solely to makeup application. You couldn’t ask for much more in a waiting area, most notably a marvelous, see-through table filled with lipstick tubes as the centerpiece. Customers can sit and enjoy a complimentary Campari and soda while they browse Rouge’s lookbook-loaded iPads.
Essentially, Rouge New York is like DryBar for the face. And the menu is full, that’s for sure. The salon's three signature makeup styles range from a skilled, light touch to an intense, notice-me-now look. There are also plenty of other services offered, such as eyebrow, lip and chin waxing, touch-ups (makeup and brows) and individual faux eyelash application.
Rouge uses a combination of their own makeup, along with lines the founders love (such as FACE Stockholm and Julie Hewett). Additionally, if a client has a favorite foundation, lipstick, etc., the makeup artists are happy to incorporate whatever product the client brings along into the look they're creating. And of course, Rouge also offers house calls, works weddings, and even rents out their swanky space for private parties such as bachelorette shindigs or girls-only beauty bashes. Just call and inquire.
Individual appointments can be made over the phone or online, but drop-ins are also welcome, which is one of the best thing about this small but swanky pro-makeup spot. You can literally make a quick pit stop for some extra lashes (the process takes 10 minutes tops) or a brow and makeup touch-up on your way to meet your date downtown.
Founded by makeup artist Rebecca Perkins and actress Stephanie March, this just-launched, one-of-a-kind salon is a true urban gem. New Yorkers now have a place to easily find no-fuss, affordable makeup artists, who will leave them looking pretty and feeling pampered. How’s that for New York City pro-beauty efficiency?
