“Fragments; Everlasting” are the August 21 episodes of “Rookie Blue." Warning: this article contains spoilers. Be sure to check out the slideshow for more quotes from the episode. "Rookie Blue” airs returns next summer on ABC.

Duncan is back on active duty. Let the drama begin. It’s hard not to feel sorry for Duncan. Andy treats him terribly the entire episode, and it does look like Duncan is at least trying to be a good cop. It's a nice reversal because previously Andy got most of the sympathy. Duncan’s return, overall, is great. He partners up with Nick for a bit, and it is fun watching Nick handle Duncan. Before, Andy was the only one dealing with Duncan, which was a shame. Duncan is the kind of person that you want to watch other people interact with, kinda like Chloe.

Let’s talk about Gail. She and Holly are back together, but they’re not. It seems a little weird to have them get back together only to have Holly drop the San Francisco news, seeing as how it’s highly unlikely that Gail will leave. Gail trying to adopt Sophie is an interesting move for her character. It’s not like Gail immediately screams caregiver, but it could be great to see her try. Sadly, Gail doesn't really talk to anyone about her wanting to adopt. Traci seems like the obvious person to go, seeing as how she has a kid and also works the same hours as Gail. It would have also been a chance to showcase Gail and Traci’s friendship.

Here are some thoughts on elsewhere in the episode. Dov and Chloe break up. It would have been great to see this not only because it could have been a great emotional scene, but also because it’s a little jarring to all of a sudden see them broken up. It’s like oh, that happened? Um okay then. The viewers have to play catch up. Chris is back from rehab, and everyone thinks it was just a vacation. It would have been great to play out his rehab stint, and maybe show some phone calls between him and Dov. Also, it seems like a really quick stay in rehab.

What did you think of the episodes? Do you think Gail would make a great mother? Any theories on who the father of Marlo’s baby is? Leave me your thoughts in a comment below.
