If you were not at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Hall this past Saturday (Dec.19) you missed a great show, Atlantic City Takeover presented by A-Listers Live Presents featuring: Brooklyn rapper, Fabolous, Teyana Taylor, and the epic Roc-a-Fella Reunion. For those who don’t know Fabolous scored his first big hit in 2001 with “Can’t Deny It.” The album “Ghetto Fabolous,” from which the single came, reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and went on to sell more than a million copies. In 2003, Fabolous’ sophomore album “Street Dreams” was another stellar release which included the hits “Can’t Let You Go” and “Into You.” As the decade wore on, Fabolous continued to release big-selling albums and hit singles like “Breathe,” “Baby,” “Diamonds,” “Make Me Better” and “Baby Don’t Go.” In 2009 Fabolous released “Loso’s Way,” which debuted atop the Billboard 200. Singles from the album include “My Time,” “Everything, Everyday, Everywhere” and “Throw it in the Bag.”
Also, Teyana Taylor is a 22-year old singer, rapper, and actress who was featured on Kanye West’s latest album “Cruel Summer.” She is currently recording her debut major label album. Taylor opened the show with a dance routine of several of Janet Jackson’s hit’s including “Pleasure Principle” and “I get so lonely” as well as performed her rendition of Drake’s “Marvin’s Room” called “Her Room”. She also performed two of her own original tracks, an up-tempo track, “Valentine” and smooth ballad “Bliss” that features John Legend.
Teairra Marie opened for the Roc, by getting the crowd pumped up while performing two of her hits, “Make her feel good” and “Sponsor”. After her energetic performance, Roc-a-Fella reunited with Freeway, Young Gunz, Peedi Crakk and Memphis Bleek. Young Gunz were first up performing their classic hit, “No Better Love” then followed the other acts of Freeway, Peddi Crakk, and Bleek performing all time favorite hits, “Set It Off”, “Flipside”, and “Rock The Mic” and many more fan favorite classics. While the crowd was still hoping to see Jay Z and Beanie Sigel, the packed ballroom was still enjoyed the reunion of Freeway, Young Gunz, Peedi Crakk and Memphis Bleek.
Closing the show was Fabolous who performed several hits from his new mix tape “Soul Tape 2” thanking the crowd and dedicating his performance to the victims of Hurricane Sandy. The performances however, is more than just great entertainers and music, this is a Concert For A Cause, as part of the proceeds from the concert will be provided to support the victims of Hurricane Sandy, a storm that recently wreaked havoc on the east coast, causing massive damage and destruction. While rapper Future was listed to perform he was unavailable at the last minute, but that did not stop Atlantic City from enjoying the Roc-a-Fella Reunion with Teyana Taylor and Fabolous.
