Robbers on High Street rock Mercury Lounge before heading to SXSW

Indie rockers Robbers on High Street played to a full house at Mercury Lounge Monday night. And boy did they have a good time - and so did the crowd. Clearly talented musicians, the group played some of their old tunes as well as some new music from their new album, Hey There Golden Hair, to be released this summer.

The Robbers sound is hard to describe. They sound a bit like The Kinks with a dash of Weezer - if the Kinks were young hipsters living in Brooklyn today.

Their new single off their forthcoming album, "Electric Eye," which was the #11 most added song at CMJ this past year, was a crowd favorite. “Electric Eye” and “Face In The Fog,” were released as a limited-run 7” single through NYC indie Engine Room Recordings.

The show was highly enjoyable, and I can't wait until they play another NYC show. Don't worry, I'll let you know so you can enjoy it too.
