Maura: “I don’t think it’s good to lie whether you are pretty or little.”

“Burden of Proof” is the September 2 episode of “Rizzoli & Isles.” If you haven’t seen this episode, beware of spoilers. “Rizzoli & Isles” returns this February on TNT.

Even though Jane isn't a fan of Paul, it’s great that the writers don’t paint her as a horrible person who doesn't care about his well being. She may not be a fan of how he cheated on his wife, but Jane is still concerned about how Paul was treated in prison/holding. If she wouldn't, it would have made Jane look like a horrible human being. It’s interesting to see Jane do a complete 180 when it comes to how she feels about Paul. The scene in the elevator is where the turnaround happens, and it’s great for that reason.

Alright, who else thinks Paul’s wife did it? Right now, she is the only possible killer. It’s so much so that by the end of the episode, it’s weird that she hasn't been revealed as the killer. The writers could have easily revealed who the killer was in this episode. Odds are when the show returns in February, most people aren't going to remember the specifics of the case. There could have been at least a break in the case before switching to Jane trying to coax Paul off the ledge. Also, did he slip or did he jump?

Angela and Jane start to make Maura nervous about hanging out with Jack’s daughter. It is pretty obvious that Allie wasn't going to be a typical seventh grader. There’s too much prep and concern about how badly this could all go. It would have been better if Maura just met Allie and then found out that she is like the girls Maura ran into where she chatted about Katy Perry. Still, the conversation between Maura and Angela is hilarious. How do she not know about “Pretty Little Liars?” It’s a cute but predictable funny storyline. The only unexpected thing is that Jack approved of Maura giving Allie lip gloss.
