Susie: “I’m conducting a fruit-opsy.”
While Maura’s away, it’s time for Susie to step up. Over the seasons, Susie has popped up every now and then, but she doesn't get a lot of air time. It’s great to see her more, especially in one on one scenes with Jane. Even though Jane is still urging a scientist to guess, it’s a different dynamic than she has with Maura. It would have been great to have a scene where Susie is presenting one of her dioramas to Korsak or Frankie. Let’s integrate Susie more into the team. Did you enjoy seeing more of Susie?
The case is setup as this perfect crime, which is promising, but the writers fail to deliver the intrigue. Maybe if instead of presenting a perfect suspect, the writers could have focused on the lack of physical evidence and played up that they are scrounging to find something. Perhaps this doesn't happen because Maura is away, and there is never a scene with this new medical examiner. He doesn't seem very friendly (from the one scene where Jane waved at him), and watching Jane try to get answers out of him or chat with him could have been hilarious. Also, why this random guy and not Pike?
A personal storyline for Korsak! There is not that much that is known about him, so it is fantastic to get a glimpse into what his like was life before he became a cop. This storyline has promise, but it falls a bit short. A scene between Korsak and Bobby would have helped, maybe the scene of Korsak giving him the guitar or something. Angela’s chats with Korsak are nice though. She tends to mother everyone at the precinct. Some people are hoping for them to be a couple. What do you think, would Korsak and Angela make a good match?
