Risky Reunion by Lenora Worth: the mob’s in Montana

Twenty years ago, Eloise Hill testified against the mob. She joined the witness protection program, gave up her baby daughter for adoption, and fled to Montana. Now, the mob is after her again, trying to finish the case by knocking her off. Several women that look like her have been killed in the hunt.

Jackson McGraw was on the case back then, falling in love with Ellie, only to have her disappear. Now, he’s on the case again and back in her life, trying to protect her. But the case just gets more complicated when one of Ellie’s co-workers is murdered by her husband. The husband is a police officer. He knows that Ellie witnessed that murder, too. His APB stating that she is a person of interest in the case just alerts the mob to Ellie’s location. It throws a monkey wrench into the mob investigation.

The book is a pleasant read that has just enough, but not too much of anything. It moves along smoothly, has logical conclusions, and captures the personalities of the characters well. There’s enough reason to care about the characters without getting into a pity party. There’s enough excitement without getting grossed out. There’s enough love without going into a bedroom to express it.
