Rinse free car washing becomes the new normal in drought areas (Photos)

Turtle Wax, a world leader in car care, has introduced a new, and timely, product - Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash & Wax - that meets the unique needs of car and truck owners in drought areas.

With the drought conditions continuing in Texas, restrictions on water use for hand washing of cars are increasing.

So how do you keep your car or truck clean and shined up during these dry times?

You can always spend your money at the self-serve or full-serve car washes - or - you can do it yourself at home using one of the several rinse free car wash products available in the market.

A number of rinse free car wash products have come to market in the last couple of years and, based on experience, most of them do not perform as advertised. They are not easy to use, leave the car finish with streaks and haze and take more time than you would have spent than if you had gone to the self-serve.

The just introduced Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash & Wax appears now to finally be the real deal.

Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash & Wax was developed by the professionals at Turtle Wax specifically to address the needs of urban dwellers who want or need to wash their car or truck themselves, but must deal with restrictions on how or where they can wash their vehicle.

Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash & Wax needs no driveway, no hoses and almost no water to keep a car or truck clean and bright all year around. Using only four ounces of solution in a bucket of two gallons of water, Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash Wax cleans all exterior surfaces from plastic to rubber to paint and glass without the need to rinse.

This product can be used in direct sunlight with the added benefit of drying spot free. Using only the water in the bucket containing the product, a car can be washed on the street, in a parking structure or in the garage with ease.

"Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash & Wax is one of our most exciting innovations to date, completely reinventing the way we wash cars, saving the consumer time while having a positive effect on the environment," said Mike Schultz, senior vice president of product development for Turtle Wax. "This product uses special polymers that surround the dirt so you can simply wipe it away without rinsing."

The new Turtle Wax product uses its unique blend of biodegradable polymer cleaners and wax sealants to safely clean all of the surfaces of the vehicle while protecting the finish and the environment at the same time. The formula encapsulates and loosens dirt as it is applied so that it wipes away without rinsing. As the soil is removed, a protective film is deposited to restore a brilliant shine.

How to use Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash & Wax:

To give your ride a quick clean and bright finish, you will need about 15 minutes of your time and a bucket with four ounces of the product mixed with two gallons of water and two or three clean microfiber towels.

Work on small sections at a time like a fender, door, hood or trunk, washing the solution onto the surface of the vehicle.

Take the microfiber towel folded in half or in quarters and wipe the solution off.

Repeat the process until finished.

Dirt encapsulated by the polymers and collected by the mitt will sink to the bottom of the wash bucket each time you rinse the mitt and get fresh solution to go on to the next section.

Any residual dirt will be picked up and trapped by the microfiber towel as you wipe the solution off.

As you see the towel showing any dirt, refold it to a clean surface or use another towel repeating the process until the vehicle is clean, dry and shining bright.

Tips for a perfect shine:

Here are a couple of tips learned using this and similar products that will make the Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash & Wax finish even better.

Use a second bucket of clean water to clean the mitt in so that no dirt gets transferred (even to the bottom) of the wash solution bucket as you rinse the mitt.

Plan on using two or three microfiber towels to clean an average sized vehicle. Fresh, clean and mostly dry cloths get the surfaces dry and clean best with minimal wiping effort and enhances the shine.

Wash the mitt and microfiber towels alone by hand or in a machine. If washed with other fabrics like cotton, the microfiber cloth tends to pick up the cotton fibers thus reducing the effectiveness of the microfiber action with the polymers in the wash solution.

You can dry the towels in your dryer, but do not use dryer softener or other similar products as they will also diminish the effectiveness of the microfiber fabric.

Turtle Wax Rinse Free Wash & Wax is available where ever car care products are sold. The suggested retail price for a 33.8-ounce container is $7.99. That should be enough for about eight washes.
