A taste test of the Mashups Fruit & Veggie Smoothies by my toddler and preschooler received two thumbs up. My toddler absolutely loved every flavor and sucked on the pouches until there wasn’t a drop left. My preschooler liked the Carroty Chop and Blueberry Blitz, but was not a fan of the Beetbox Berry. Two out of three isn’t so bad though!
As a mom I am a huge fan of Mashups for a few reasons. First of all, they are a healthy, filling snack that includes both fruits and vegetables. After all, what’s not to love about that? Second, they are completely mess free! I just twist off the cap and hand the pouch to my toddler who sucks it empty as fast as she possibly can. You don’t need bowls, spoons, or even bibs if your child is anything like mine. Third, they are conveniently portable. I throw Mashups in my purse or diaper bag when we head out of the house. They are a perfect on-the-go snack or addition to lunch or dinner when we are out and about. I know my toddler is guaranteed to eat them, and I know they won’t leave a mess!
A sister brand to Plum Organics, Revolution Foods embraces many of the same philosophies. Their products are free from trans fats, high fructose corn syrup and artificial ingredients, so you can feel good giving them to your little ones. The pouches are all BPA free as well.
Revolution Foods has many other great products for toddlers and young children including Jammy Sammys and Grammy Sammys, two lines of organic snack-sized sandwich bars. I can honestly say both of my children loved the blueberry and oatmeal Jammy Sammy. (We have not yet had the opportunity to try the other varieties, but I am guessing they would be met with just as much enthusiasm!) These snack sandwiches do, however, have a bit more sugar than I typically give my toddler so they will be a treat rather than a staple at our house. As a mom you can feel good about purchasing products from Revolution Foods. Three percent of the net product line sales is directed into the school lunch system to provide meals to kids in under-served schools. According to a press release, Revolution Foods provided over seven million healthy school meals last year alone.
In Olympia, you can find Revolution Foods products at local stores such as Safeway and Toys R’ Us. However, from what I’ve seen, Toys R’ Us has a much larger selection of the different products.
