While some decks can be relatively inexpensive to build, the vast majority of trading card games have highly saught after cards that can fetch a pretty penny on the secondary market. Safely storing and transporting your decks to and from your next duel over at a friend's house or tournament at your local card shop is pivotal if you want to keep your deck safe and maintain your investment. The "Zexal Red Double Deck Case" is a "Yu-Gi-Oh!" branded deck box will do just that.
We received a free "Zexal Red Double Deck Case" courtesy of Konami to review, and this stylish plastic deck box is primarily black with red "Zexal" design and a prominent "Yu-Gi-Oh!" logo on the front. There's two removable deck trays and index boards inside, and it also features a magnetic closure on the front. You'll also find a spot on the inside of the lid flap to write your name and gaming ID number. It's a pretty good idea to do so with a permanent market, and you'll also want to include your phone number. Barring theft from another player, an honest person or game store owner who spots this snazzy case abandoned on a table will be able to reunite you with your cards.
The "Zexal Red Double Deck Case" looks and feels exactly like a Max Protection "Double Deck Armor" box. When you open the lid, each deck tray has a small area that's cut out enough to read the names of cards inside to know which deck you want. The individual deck trays inside don't have covers. If you look at the "Zexal Red Double Deck Case" from the left side you'll notice a small couple centimeter opening where you can see through the box to the right side. If the box is laying on its back on a table and somebody spills a drink there's a chance liquid could ruin the cards inside, even if they're protected by card sleeves. Putting your deck case into your backpack or messenger bag while playing your duel can prevent this from occurring, however we can't help but note that this wouldn't be an issue at all if the top of the "Zexal Red Double Deck Case" had sides like an UltraPro double deck box does, and not just a front flap.
The "Zexal Red Double Deck Case" can be found at your local game store and mass market retailers for an MSRP of $7.99.
